About the Department

Overview & history of Pharmacy at Contai Polytechnic

The Pharmacy Department started its journey in the year 1997 with an intake of 30 seats and received its first approval from the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) — one of only 6 institutions under the Department of Technical Education & Training, Govt. of West Bengal.

In the year 2004, the intake capacity was increased from 30 to 60. Every attempt is made by the Department to intermesh theoretical concepts with practical insights and present textual matter in an objective, thought-provoking manner.

The department can provide 100% placement immediately after students pass out their courses. Assistance is also provided to those students who are interested in higher studies. Industrial visits expose the reality of professional activities to students every year. This department is rich with standard reference books and highly qualified staff.

HOD's Message

From the Head of Department

Dr. Balaram Patra
HOD's Message

"Creation, dissemination and protection of knowledge in educational institutions are important. Information technology has become the ultimate weapon in a competitive environment — knowledge management is perhaps going to be the most crucial armour for competitive success."

Student competitiveness is greatly determined by their ability to respond within the time frame determined by employment opportunity. Students should prepare themselves in such a way that they meet the current and future needs in the field of Pharmacy.

Institutions constantly build a better track record on student activities. Those who are prepared are perceived as superior to their competitors and hence offer more value for money. Our aim is to produce pharmacists who are not just technically skilled, but also ethical, responsible, and socially aware.
