About the Centre
In recent years, the Vocational Education and Training Department has been successfully imparting training to VIII+ students and technical education for X+ students across the state. In 2008, 'Nodal Centres' were established in each district to effectively monitor and migrate information to the large number of vocational centers.
Contai Nodal Centre is the largest Nodal Centre in West Bengal, situated within Contai Polytechnic. Controlled by the Directorate of Vocational Education & Training, Govt. of West Bengal, it has been operational since July 2006.
Presently, 423 Vocational Training Centres (VTCs) run throughout the Purba Medinipur District for VIII+ and X+2 levels, all affiliated with WBSCT&VE&SD.
Major Activities
VTC Management
Monitoring & supervision of 423 VTCs in Purba Medinipur District.
Examination Cell
Conducting examinations and centralized evaluation of answer scripts.
Liaison
Maintaining constant liaison among VTCs, Council, and Directorate offices.
Administration
Distributing important circulars, notices, and performing inspections.
